Cleaning & Preventive
Every 6-month regular cleaning is essential in order to keep your mouth clean to prevent any bacterial infection. Your overall health can be affected by your oral hygiene. It is also recommended to prevent an irreversible gum recession and bone loss.
Plaques are soft food debris between teeth. Once you build up plaques for a significant amount of time, they become hard and now they are called calculus. Once you buildup calculus, your home brushing would not be enough to remove them and more advanced cleanings such as intermediate cleanings or deep cleanings are needed.
Cavities are caused by a bacterial infection and they do need to be treated. Treating cavities when they are small is more ideal. By treating cavities at its early phase, you can prevent sensitivity and ultimately losing the tooth.
Once a cavity gets big enough close to the nerve chamber, it is considered to be too late for filling. Or if a tooth becomes symptomatic, most of the time it is considered to be too late for filling. In order to save the tooth, you may need a root canal or extraction.
Once the cavity gets big enough to a point where there is not much tooth structure remaining, crowns may be needed to restore the tooth.
If you had previous extractions and there is a gap between teeth, getting a Bridge may be an option to fill the missing area. Bridges are simply connected crowns fixed in the mouth.
This is for more of the esthetic zone, such as your front teeth. It is simply a partial crown with a minimal tooth prepping. Unlike crowns, only the front and top portion of the tooth are prepped.
Inlays and Onlays
They are like fillings but with more stronger materials. It is indirect restoration (filling) consisting of a solid substance such as gold, porcelain or less often a cured composite resin, fitted to a cavity in a tooth and cemented into place.
Once the cavity becomes too big, it is considered to be too late even for root canals and becomes unrestorable. Even if the tooth is not causing any pain, it needs to be treated to avoid infection.
There are partial and complete dentures. In order for the partial denture to work, you need at least bilateral support within the arch, meaning you need at least one tooth on each side within the arch
You may have heard of Invisalign. We do ClearCorrect, which is just a different brand of an invisible tray that does orthodontic work without having you wear the metal brackets
In order to replace a tooth, it may be needed to place a dental implant. Not all cases are suitable for implants., thus a consultation is required.
Buildup with a screw after root canal prior to getting a crown. You need some structure to support a crown.
If you are having pain or swelling, we will try to relieve the pain as soon as possible so you can get back to your normal routine.
